I'm always a little bit cautious when I buy romance e-books that haven't been on the "read and recommended" list of the two people that I have found match my tastes in this genre. I rarely buy outside of those lists. With 2 or 3 exceptions all e-books purchases on my own are put in either the "well, it wasn't that bad" or "I'm not finishing this" category.Well, I can tell you one think - "Strawberries for Dessert" is a hot shot entry in the "why did it have to end, I want MORE!" category.The author has created two amazingly human characters, Cole Fenton and Jonathan Kechter, and she makes possible for the reader to care for them, understand them and no matter the occasional wish to slap the head of one of them at certain times, you not only like them, but you root for them. I could write a whole essay on the topic of why I love them as characters, but long story short - I could understand their decisions and why they made them.This is the first book by Marie Sexton I have read entirely. I first started to read "Promises", but couldn't get past the first several pages of it. The style of writing wasn't my personal favorite, so I read all the reviews on Amazon.com for the 4th in the series and I decided to try "Strawberries for Dessert". The writing style here was like tailor made for all of my preferences. The structure was great, the dialog was amazing and I read the whole book in one go, no stops. For me "Strawberries for Dessert" is the perfect blend of good writing, great characters, perfectly paced romantic relationship and last, but not least - emotionally fitting to the story sex scenes.All in all, this is an amazing book and I'm glad I read all the other reviews here and decided to trust them. Marie Sexton, you did extraordinary work and you have a new fan. I hope I can read more from you soon.
