A good succinct presentation of the basics of topology with topological groups folded in. The writing is easy to follow, but the book is definitely not light on rigor.May not work well for a one-semester course, as the topology and group theory are interwoven fairly substantially. One does not need to know group theory before reading the book, but one cannot easily escape it and still get at all the topology.
