Dan Poynter has written a great little book that I have found to be very helpful. It is a challenge to turn a blank page into a written manuscript and the author gives many good pointers on how to approach this problem. Book publishing has come a long ways from the days when I sat in front of a IBM Selectric. (Does anyone else remember those?) Technology has revolutionized the way books are produced and the way they are read. This is discussed in the chapter called "The New Book Model". I found this to be very helpful. Most aspects of writing are covered in this book like, what to write, researching your topic, the books title and subtitle, the covers, both front and back, getting your writing organized into a system, and find a publisher and agent. I found the resources section of this book to be very helpful. It is not a long voluminous book, it has 141 pages which include an appendix and an index. I liked chapter 1 the best. It is entitled What your book will do for you. It talks about the benefits of being an author, and steps to financial success. I recommend this for anyone who wants to write non-fiction. -- Valerie Lull, Author, Ten Healthy Teas
